By 1911, the Longines factory employed over 1,100 workers and shipped its products worldwide. Longines' technical research efforts were rewarded with over 10 Grand Prix awards by the time of the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, establishing the brand as the most decorated. In 1989, Francillon trademarked the name Longines and the winged hourglass logo. Longines, registered with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), is one of the oldest brands to use the same registered trademark and logo since its inception. Evolving manufacturing techniques at the factory allowed Longines to establish special relationships with the sports world, providing expertise in various fields, including the iconic sports of the 20th century.
