I have made a big departure in how i view wristwatch value. I have some mechanical watches that rival typical quartz watches in accuracy - but this high end quartz with the regulation, eco drive and perpetual calendar has changed my whole outlook. when i consider price < $2000 USD including duties - there is nothing close. I also like the grand seiko - particularly spring drive - but they are about 5 times as expensive with no perpetual calendar.

For years, I admired watches but never really took the step to own one that felt truly meaningful. When I first saw the Seiko HBD002J1, I knew it was something special. What started as a simple search for my first Seiko quickly turned into an appreciation for a watch that seemed to tell a story very similar to my own.
The first thing that caught my attention was its stunning Desert Sand dial. Having spent around 12 years in the Middle East, first in Saudi Arabia and now in the UAE, the color immediately resonated with me. It reminds me of the endless desert landscapes, and the journey I've had throughout my career in this region. In many ways, the dial feels like a tribute to the place that has shaped a significant chapter of my life. Really love the watch. 1st of many , i hope :)
